Critical Conversations Series: Student Groups Unite to Build Space for Honest Dialog

Poster Submitted

Multiple registered student organizations have come together to launch a Critical Conversations series, an initiative designed to highlight pressing issues impacting students on campus and beyond. In a time when many topics feel difficult, polarizing or even avoided, this series aims to create intentional, respectful and inclusive spaces for open dialogue.

These conversations are grounded in the belief that showing up matters! By engaging with one another, we deepen our understanding of how people from different backgrounds experience the same issues in vastly different ways. Through listening, reflecting and sharing, we build a stronger, more informed campus community.

Join the Diversity Inclusion Student Council, in partnership with PRIDE, Students for Justice in Palestine and the Black Student Association, as we have conversations that challenge, educate and connect. Come ready to listen and gain better understanding of the experiences members of our campus community are having.

  • Tuesday, March 31 — Myths About Trans People
PRIDE and DISC invite you to discuss common misconceptions about transgender people, how these myths shape lived experiences and how we can build more inclusive communities.
  • Wednesday, April 1 — Don't Be Fooled: How Faith Shapes Conflict
Hosted by SJP and DISC, this conversation examines how religion influences conflict to better understand the intersection of religion and ongoing violence against Palestinian people.
  • Thursday April 2 — The Impact of Anti-DEI Legislation on Black Students
Join the BSA and the DISC to explore how the growing backlash against Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives is impacting Black individuals' ability to show up authentically in academic, professional and community spaces.

Everyone is welcome!
