College of Engineering Launches Alumni Mentoring Registry

The University of Arkansas College of Engineering has launched a new mentoring registry, connecting alumni professionals with current students seeking career guidance and professional development support.

The registry provides a streamlined platform for engineering alumni to share their expertise and experiences with students navigating academic decisions, career paths and industry transitions. Through this initiative, faculty and staff can match students with mentors whose backgrounds align with their specific interests and goals.

"Our alumni have built remarkable careers across diverse industries, and their insights are invaluable to our current students," said Laura Moix, innovation and impact strategist in the College of Engineering. "This registry makes it easier than ever for professionals to give back to the next generation of engineers while fitting mentorship into their busy schedules."

The program welcomes participation from alumni of all graduation years and engineering disciplines, regardless of career stage. Mentors can choose their level of engagement based on personal availability, making the opportunity accessible to both recent graduates and seasoned executives.

Kelsey Lavigne, director of career initiatives in the College of Engineering, stated, "Through programs like Mentorship Circles and other opportunities, we're building a vibrant network of support, and we're always eager to welcome more mentors ready to give back and help shape the next generation of engineers."

Alumni interested in participating can complete a brief registration form, where they will share their areas of expertise and availability preferences.
