Department of Music Professor to Join EXIGENCE Vocal Ensemble

Lenora Green-Turner is honored to be joining the EXIGENCE Vocal Ensemble, the premier professional vocal ensemble of the Sphinx Organization led by founder and conductor Eugene Rogers in New York City with the New York Philharmonic. They will be performing a series of concerts for their Variations of America: A Discussion Series called "Vision: Facing the American Dream."

The first concert will be performed at 7 p.m. Jan. 20, after a distinguished panel of experts - moderator Fredara Hadley and panelists Zeke Hernandez and Anthony Tommasini - to discuss Thomas Adès America (A Prophecy) that was commissioned and premiered in 1999.

The next three concerts will be performed with pianist Yuja Wang with Thomas Adès himself conducting. Adès will aso be conducting "Saariaho's Oltra mar — an ethereal meditation on love, time and death — as well as Ives's Orchestral Set No. 2 and America (A Prophecy), Adès's own foreboding view of our nation's fate." Click here for more information.
