Jessica Doss, a junior from Little Rock majoring in anthropology and chemistry with plans to go to medical school, has already built an impressive resume of travel and research.
Some of the countries she's visited include Japan, where she studied Japanese, and Canada, to participate in Model U.N.
This past summer, she conducted research at Washington University in St. Louis, studying the intersection of economics and clinical applications.
Over Thanksgiving break, she’ll be traveling to Spain for a Model U.N. conference.
Jessica credits the Honors College faculty and programs such as the Honors College Study Abroad Grant, the Honors College Research grant and Honors College Conference Travel grant.
“Their advising program has also been my biggest guide in navigating and fulfilling all of these ambitions,” she says. “I am also very lucky to have faculty advisers and professors who believe in my ability and consistently encourage me to apply to these sort of programs.
“The research infrastructure at the U of A and the ability to pursue it with so much support has been instrumental to paving the way for some of these travel opportunities.”
