Fall Private Lesson Registration Now Open Through Community Music School

The U of A Community Music School is now accepting registrations for fall private lessons.

Private lessons provide personalized instruction for musicians of all ages and experience levels. Students may study in person or online with instructors from the U of A and the Northwest Arkansas music community, including undergraduate and graduate music students, local professionals and university faculty.

Lessons are available on a variety of instruments, and students may begin at any point during the semester. Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for an audition or looking to continue developing their skills, CMS works to connect each student with an instructor who fits their interests, goals and experience level.

The fall private lesson semester runs through Dec. 4. Lesson availability, scheduling and rates vary by instructor.

Instructor Spotlight: Meet Marek Čajka

Čajka helps guitar students build strong musical skills while exploring the styles that excite and inspire them.

Čajka began playing guitar at age 16, starting with acoustic guitar before transitioning to electric. He has performed in a dance band specializing in rock and pop repertoire, and his musical interests expanded to include country music while studying abroad in Utah.

After earning his undergraduate degree in music education in the Czech Republic, Čajka came to the U of A to pursue a Master of Music in instrumental performance with an emphasis in guitar. At the U of A, he studied with Dr. Jake Hertzog, performed with the World Music Ensemble under Professor Nikola Radan and presented two recitals. He completed his master's degree in May 2026.

Čajka enjoys teaching students of different ages and experience levels and helping each musician develop their skills through music that feels meaningful to them.
