The university's Facilities Management (FAMA) Department is implementing a comprehensive restructuring of its accounting worktag system within Workday, effective July 1.
All existing FAMA worktags will be replaced with new ones as part of this change, so departments/colleges/units that need to charge a FAMA worktag will need to reach out to Heather Loftin-Morris (hl028@uark.edu) or Drew Price (ajp026@uark.edu) to verify the new worktag number.
Why the Change Was Made
This initiative represents the first full reset of the FAMA chart of accounts since the early 2000s. It will create a simpler and more consolidated internal reporting system on projects and will provide improved visibility for strategic planning and budget accountability.
One of the major benefits of the change is that there will be a higher level of detail and information in Workday on active projects, allowing campus stakeholders more access to see what charges are for based on spend category.
