The U of A's last remaining Tech Store, located on the first floor of the University Bookstore at 616 N. Garland Ave., will permanently close its doors on May 20, 2026.
The Tech Store website will also go offline on May 20.
The Tech Store's other location in the Arkansas Union permanently closed on Dec. 15.
The Tech Store at the University of Arkansas has been in operation since 1984. The Tech Store & Service Center supported the campus community by providing technology for sale at discounted prices, walk-up technology support and repair services for computers.
IT Business Operations will continue to manage the requisition of technology products through the TeamDynamix ticketing process for standard configuration purchases. They will assist with Dell, Apple and Microsoft Surface standard configuration questions, pre-purchase recommendations, post-purchase support and estimated arrival dates for purchase orders.
Warranty services for university owned Dell, Apple and Windows computers will now be located at the Student Technology Center, room 326 of the Arkansas Union.
Warranty services on personally owned Dell and Windows devices can now be completed at the Student Technology Center.
The university will no longer have an Apple-authorized campus store, so those who want to use personal funds to purchase Apple technology or those who require warranty work on their personally owned Apple devices will need to use one of the following sources for assistance:
- Purchase from Apple Education site
- Obtain support from Apple directly
- Find authorized repair and service locations
IT Services will continue to guide students and their parents on specific colleges' unique equipment needs by maintaining technology requirements and recommendations by college and degree.
